The Hague: MICE Peak 2018

The Case

This year, MICE Peak brought together meeting-, event-, and incentive planners from Germany, Austria and Switzerland with international suppliers in The Hague. During its third edition, the event facilitated a highly creative and interactive exchange between participants and exhibitors. The Hague Convention Bureau helped organising a programme packed with workshops, (outdoor) activities, presentations and networking opportunities.

The Venues

To tailor to the needs of the three MICE Peak pillars (performance, experience and training), The Hague Convention Bureau used its strong network of local partners and advised on venues throughout the city.

The Louwman Museum provided a unique set-up for a large audience during the impressive opening ceremony. World Forum The Hague accommodated the 25 international exhibitors and provided break-out rooms for interactive workshops. A BBQ at Boomerang Beach, one of Scheveningen’s many excellent beach clubs, offered delegates a real relaxation opportunity and an authentic experience of The Hague beach. The Peace Palace was the setting for an exclusive tour, workshops and keynote presentations. A cocktail reception in the garden and gala dinner in the ballroom of the historic Spaansche Hof ensured a memorable closing evening.

MICE Peak in The Hague

The Hague had the honour to host MICE Peak 2018. During three days of networking, fun activities and keynotes about the theme 'Peace & Justice', the delegates had the opportunity to make valuable connections and see all that The Hague has to offer as a first-class business event destination.

The City

A strong focus lay on the city of The Hague since one of MICE Peak’s objectives is for participants to get to know the hosting destination. The Hague’s accessibility, its great infrastructure, unique leisure activities and high quality of offered services convinced MICE Peak’s organisers and left a lasting impression on the delegates.

I didn’t know about the vicinity between Schiphol airport and The Hague before, so I was a bit tentative in offering The Hague to my clients because I thought it was not that easy to reach, but I have to admit it is really easy.

We as a convention bureau are the connectors within the city. Offering MICE Peak’s organisers our support was a great pleasure.

The Support

The Hague Convention Bureau (THCB) invited inspirational speakers to share their stories on how The Hague is making a worldwide impact on peace and justice related matters. Thanks to the close collaboration with The Hague Humanity Hub, THCB was able to put MICE Peak organisers in touch with keynote speakers Jurrie Barkel from the Dutch Sheltersuit Foundation and Tim van Deursen from Hack The Planet. Hereby THCB helped to add depth and meaning to the event.
